Description
Non-terminated bare copper wires do not have insulation or a jacket and are used to connect a circuit to a grounding rod in the earth. They are installed parallel to hot and neutral wires in the circuit and provide a direct path for electrical current to follow to the ground in case of a wiring problem, helping prevent electric shock. They are commonly used to ground service entrance panels to ground bars and rods or bond reinforced concrete structures.
